Meet the Owners

Hi! We’re Rick and Kristin Burmeister

We’ve called Kalamazoo County home since 2006, raising our three daughters right here in Southwest Michigan. In 2021, we finally made the move to our year-round home on Indian Lake, where we love living lakeside every day!

Real estate has been part of our lives for a long time—we’ve owned and managed multiple rental properties since 2003 and have fully remodeled two of our own homes from the ground up. We’re passionate about great homes and what they mean to families.

Living on Indian Lake opened our eyes to something special. We started hosting get-togethers with neighbors and quickly heard the same stories over and over: many folks snowbird south or head back to Chicago for long stretches, leaving their cottages empty. They shared tales of unexpected issues like frozen pipes and storm damage. We realized we could help provide peace of mind for our friends and neighbors. Caring about our neighbors’ houses turned into a passion in which we created a business!

Meet Kristin

A lifelong Michigander, Kristin brings heart and hospitality to everything she does. She’s incredibly detail-oriented and truly passionate about taking great care of people.

Kristin holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University. Her background includes teaching, human resources, and years as a dedicated homemaker. These days, she substitute teaches part-time at Vicksburg Community Schools, staying connected to our local kids and education.

Above all, Kristin cherishes being a wife and mother. She loves lake time with the family, diving into home projects, and hitting the slopes for some snow skiing.

Meet Rick

A lifelong Michigander, Rick brings top-notch skill and years of experience in home-remodeling and handiwork.

Rick earned his Mechanical Engineering degree from Kettering University and built a successful career in the automotive and medical device industries, along with various leadership roles.

Outside of work, family is everything to him. You’ll find him woodworking, tackling home projects, staying active with fitness, or out enjoying the water. Even if that’s cold plunging in the winter!

We’re neighbors helping neighbors—because we live here too, care deeply about this community, and want everyone to feel secure in their homes, whether they’re here year-round or just visiting when the weather’s perfect.

We’d love to help you with that peace of mind.
